Gadgets that inform the consumer of temperature and barometric changes, such as a meteorological REMOTE sensing unit, are becoming more popular as these DEVICES are able predict the weather with more PRECISION and accuracy. NATIONAL completes the ANALOG signal chain beginning with temperature SENSORS, conditioning through operational amplifiers, converting to DIGITAL with A/D converters, then either storing into MEMORY or displaying using Nationals display technology.

Component Highlights

* Temperature sensor - digital and analog sensors have accuracies of 0.5-1degC, and, with current OUTPUT or two-wire INTERFACE, are ideal for remote sensing applications.

* Operational amplifier - precision RRIO low-power amplifiers include high-impedance CMOS devices to minimize loading of sensors and have a wide supply range to accommodate a variety of BATTERY voltages.

* A/D converter - high 10-bit or greater resolution and accuracy of 1lsb or better enable high quality instrumentation, while SOFTWARE powerdown saves power.

* LDO - ultra-low dropout voltage with excellent supply rejection near dropout keep SYSTEM performance high over the life of the battery
